Eastman Chemical Company announced a plan to further consolidate its resins manufacturing for the coatings, adhesives and graphic arts businesses. The company said its subsidiary, Lawter International, will close its facility at Moundville, AL, and move production to more strategic manufacturing sites. Lawter will begin phasing out production at Moundville by the end of the year and the site is expected to close during the second quarter 2002. The close will result in the loss of approximately 75 Lawter employees at Moundville.
